Police were called to an incident in the West End area of London on Saturday night.
İdman.Biz reports that, according to BBC Sport, the cause of the incident is a 29-year-old international footballer who has been arrested by police.
The footballer is suspected of two counts of assault and one of affray. The victim has been hospitalised. Police say his injuries are not life-threatening.
The footballer has now been released on bail and investigations are ongoing.
Under UK law, the name of a detained person can only be released once charges have been filed. This rule has been in place since the Leveson Commission ruling in 2012, and identification is only permitted in exceptional circumstances.
