According to Idman.Biz, the 40-year-old grandmaster defeated Aydin Suleymanli in the tie-break of the semi-final stage.
He will meet Mahammad Muradli in the final.
A.Suleymanli will face Read Samadov in the match for third place.
In the final of the women's chess players, Ulviyya Fataliyeva will face Ayan Allahverdiyeva. In the match for third place, Gulnar Mammadova will compete with Turkan Mammadyarova.
