Aydin Suleymanli, Eltaj Safarli, Shiroglan Talibov, who defeated their opponents in both games, gained the opportunity to compete in the 1/8 finals. Mahammad Muradli and Read Samadov, who won the first match and drew in the return game, also advanced to the next stage.
Tie-breaks will be played today between the parties whose winners were not determined after two games of the 1/16 final stage. The winner between Nijat Abasov - Shamsi Garakhanov, Umid Aslanov - Khagan Ahmad, Rahim Gasimov - Mahammad Zulfugarli, Kamal Agasiyev - Farhad Tahirov, Khazar Babazade - Ravan Aliyev and Misratdin Iskandarov - Pasham Alizade will be determined in today's tie-break games.
It should be noted that the Azerbaijan Championship will end on February 22. Female chess players will join the competition from the 1/8 final stage.
