Zaur Pashayev, a basketball player from "Quba", will be the head coach of the Azerbaijani national team in the 3x3 World Cup qualifying round to be held in Baku on May 24-25.
The 41-year-old athlete told "Report" about this.
The experienced basketball player said that he could also play in the tournament:
"We will have 5-6 players at our disposal. For now, I can mention Amil Hamzayev, Kamran Aliyev, Shirzad Shirzadov. After the end of the Azerbaijan Basketball League, we will start training with 7-8 basketball players. We will decide who will play later. We have not started preparations because the championship has not ended. I myself can also play in the qualifying round."
It should be noted that along with the Azerbaijani men's national team, the national teams of Montenegro, Canada, Great Britain, Rwanda and Iran will also compete in the competition. The top 3 teams of the qualifying round will get the right to participate in the main stage of the World Championship.
