The head coach of the Azerbaijan U-20 men's basketball team, Anar Sariev, has commented on the victory over Slovakia in the B division of the FIBA U-20 European Championship.
İdman.Biz reports that the specialist noted that the basketball players showed perseverance, good game and love for their country on the field.
"After the first game, we faced certain difficulties because we couldn't fully analyze the opponent. Sweden showed how strong the team is by winning three games in the group. But the kids showed real perseverance, good basketball and love for their country in the match against Slovakia, winning a deserved victory.
I congratulate all members of our team. This is a very big and historic victory for our team. I hope that in the next games, we will also try to delight our fans with good results," Anar Sariev said.
Note that the Azerbaijan team defeated the host Slovakia 72:66 in the A group match held at the "GOPASS Arena" in Bratislava. This was the first victory of our team in the tournament.
Our team will face Ireland in the next match. The meeting will be held on July 14 at the "GOPASS Arena" in Bratislava.
