French basketball club ASVEL owes around 1.2 million euros for the 2025/2026 season, as the team's player expenses have fallen below the minimum required by Euroleague rules.
Sport.Biz reports this with reference to Eurohoops.
According to competition balance standards, the difference between ASVEL's actual expenses and the required lower compensation level should be divided among the players registered with the team last season.
If the debt is not paid, the club will not be able to register players and coaches for the upcoming Euroleague season until its obligations are fulfilled.
