A special program consisting of the synthesis of aikido and Azerbaijani national dance elements was presented in Shusha.
Idman.Biz reports that the "Azerbaijan-Japan Aikido and Cultural Exchange Project 2026" was implemented by the joint initiative of the Azerbaijan-Japan Friendship Center and the Karabakh Training Center.
Within the framework of the project, aikido master Junichi Gomita Sensei from Japan, diaspora activist and cultural coordinator of the International Exchange Center of Tanabe City Municipality Minara Shukurova, aikido practitioners from Azerbaijan, chairman of the Azerbaijan Mugenryu Kobudo Sports Club Public Union Bakhtiyar Zeynalov, as well as international choreographer-ballet master Lala Aslanova visited Karabakh.
The visit was supported by the State Committee on Work with Diaspora of the Republic of Azerbaijan. The program held in Shusha brought together aikido training and elements of Azerbaijani national dance.
The main goal of the project was to strengthen sports and cultural ties between Azerbaijan and Japan, as well as to promote Karabakh as an international cultural exchange venue.
