Nakhchivan wrestlers successfully performed at the "Veliköy Snow Karakuja Wrestling Festival" held in Turkey.
Idman.Biz reports that 149 athletes from 12 categories from Turkey's Erzurum, Amasya, Istanbul, Tokat, Samsun and Artvin provinces, as well as Azerbaijan and Georgia, competed in the competition.
The matches were held on a snow-covered field.
Azerbaijan was represented in the competition by 6 athletes of the "Nakhchivan" team under the leadership of Hikmat Huseynov, coach-teacher of the Nakhchivan City Children and Youth Sports School. Our representatives won 1 gold, 1 silver and 4 bronze medals at the festival.
In the children's competition, Murad Hajizade (35 kg) became the gold champion. Ruzgar Mammadov took third place in the same age group and weight. In the adults' competition, Huseyn Rzayev (85 kg) won a silver medal. Murad Guliyev (70 kg), Koja Ahmadov (90 kg) and Keramat Khudiyev (90 kg) finished the competition with a bronze medal.
