Asif Shiraliyev, who was named the best referee and awarded a special prize at the "Muhamet Malo" ranking tournament held in Tirana, the capital of Albania, considers this as respect for Azerbaijani wrestling refereeing.
The international wrestling referee said this in a statement to "Report".
The I-S category referee emphasized that he felt responsible:
"The tournament was organized at a high level and was a strong competition. The evaluation of my activity at such a prestigious tournament by the Albanian Wrestling Federation was a great responsibility and source of pride for me. I consider this award as respect and trust shown to Azerbaijani refereeing."
The chairman of the Referees Committee of the Azerbaijan Wrestling Federation also informed about his functions in the competition:
"As the head of the mat, the approval of final decisions, the evaluation of controversial episodes and the coordination of the referees' brigade were my direct responsibility. I tried to fulfill this task based on the principles of high professionalism and objectivity."
It should be noted that the best referee award of the tournament held from February 25 to March 1 was presented to our compatriot by Sahit Prizreni, the president of the Albanian Wrestling Federation.
