The Open Baku Championship among teenagers and young rowers was held jointly by the Baku City Youth and Sports Department and the Azerbaijan Canoe and Rowing Federation.
Idman.biz reports that about 100 athletes from Baku and Mingachevir participated in the competition.
According to the regulations, the competition participants competed in kayaks in both 1-person and 2-person boats, and in canoes and academic rowing in 1-person boats at a distance of 500 meters. The winners of the Open Baku Championship, which was remembered with intense and interesting moments, were awarded with diplomas and medals.
It should be noted that the main purpose of organizing the Open Baku Championship and domestic competitions of this kind is to check the level of preparation of athletes, and at the same time to attract rowers selected from among them to the youth national team.
