Serbian tennis player Novak Djokovic has set a new record for the number of matches played in "Grand Slam" tournaments.
"Report" reports with reference to foreign media that the match with Portuguese Jaime Faria in the second round of the Australian Open was the 430th for the famous tennis player.
He broke the record of Swiss Roger Federer, who played 429 matches in competitions of this level. The Serbian athlete has 380 wins in "Grand Slam" tournaments and is also the leader in this indicator.
The 37-year-old tennis player is currently seventh in the world ranking. He has won 99 tournaments held under the auspices of the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP), and is also a 24-time winner of "Grand Slam" tournaments.
N. Djokovic is the winner of the Summer Olympic Games (2024), the bronze medalist of the Olympic Games (2008) and the owner of the "Davis Cup" (2010). He holds the absolute record for the number of weeks (428) spent as the leader of the world ranking.
