Azerbaijani freestyle wrestler Giorgi Meshvildishvili won a gold medal at the European Championship held in Bratislava, the capital of Slovakia.
According to
"Report", our representative, competing in the 125 kg weight category, defeated Solomon Manashvili (Georgia) in the final.
This was the first gold medal for the Azerbaijani national team in the competition.
It should be noted that earlier, our wrestlers Islam Bazarqanov (57 kg), Ali Rahimov (65 kg), Kenan Heybatov (70 kg) and Aganazar Novruzov (74 kg) won bronze medals, and Osman Nurmagomedov (92 kg) won a silver medal.
