The World Judo Championships will start today in Budapest, the capital of Hungary.
Idman.biz reports that three Azerbaijani judo athletes will compete on the first day of the World Cup.
World Championship
Men
60 kg
Ahmad Yusifov will wrestle with Ryuju Nagayama from Japan in the 1/16 finals.
Women
48 kg
Leyla Aliyeva (48 kg) will start the fight from the 1/32 finals. She will face Kurbanay Kurbanova (Turkmenistan).
Konul Aliyeva will test Maria Laborde (USA) in the same stage.
It should be noted that the Azerbaijani national team went to the World Championship with 13 judo athletes (9 men, 4 women) in 10 weight categories. Our team will also compete in the mixed team competition.
