New Zealand driver Liam Lawson of the Racing Bulls team has expressed concern about the new technical regulations to be implemented in Formula 1 from the 2026 season. The young driver emphasized that the new rules will bring many difficulties and risks.
İdman.Biz, referring to RacingNews365, reports that Liam Lawson drew attention to the differences that will arise especially in high-speed corners and straights.
"It's not easy. We are currently facing many issues. The introduction of the SLM (Speed Limit Management) system in speed zones in corners is a serious problem. Trying to race in such conditions can be quite risky," the pilot emphasized.
The pilot also spoke about the impact of the cars' energy recovery process on overtaking maneuvers:
"The cars collecting energy at the end of the straights and the speed difference between them and the cars trying to overtake... there are many things we are learning. It is not so easy to fix them. We are all facing these difficulties right now."
It should be noted that revolutionary changes in both engine and aerodynamics are planned in Formula 1 from 2026. These changes involve switching to environmentally friendly fuel and using more electricity. However, pilots regularly express their dissatisfaction with the new rules.
