Zira won 3-0 against Georgia's Torpedo in the 1st qualifying round of the UEFA Conference League. According to Sport24.az, the captain of the capital's team, Qismat Aliev, shared his thoughts about the game with Idman TV after the match:
"We knew before the game that our opponent was in good spirits, as they had recently won the Super Cup. After our training camp, we had a good understanding of what kind of team we were facing. They are also currently among the leaders in their own championship. Although we won 3-0 today, I think the second game will be even more difficult. We need to prepare more carefully and with more desire for the return match. I hope we will be the ones to advance to the next stage".
The footballer also expressed their determination to win the away match:
"As you know, we only played two friendly matches during our training camp in Bolu. We realized that two friendly matches were not enough to prepare for the European cups. Both in meetings and in our own conversations, we knew that no matter how difficult it was, we had to get into the game rhythm. Today, we took at least a steady step and won 3-0. We know that in Georgia, they will play on their home field and have serious fan support behind them. But we will also play with desire from the first minutes and work towards victory again".
