Algerian goalkeeper Luka Zidan has admitted his responsibility for the 3-0 defeat to Argentina in the first round of the 2026 World Cup group stage and apologized to his national team comrades.

Earlier, media reports said that after the defeat to Argentina, Luka was supported by his father, Zinedine Zidan, the winner of the 1998 World Cup with the French national team, in the locker room.
In the second round of the group stage, the Algerian national team will face Jordan (June 23) and Austria (June 28) in the third round.
