"I consider it a great success of AFFA that "Qarabağ" will play in the main stage of the Champions League in 2025, and that the 2027 FIFA U-20 World Cup will be awarded to Azerbaijan along with Uzbekistan."
These words were said by football expert Yashar Seyidov.
The experienced functionary shared his views on the events in the country's football this year.
"It can also be considered a success that AFFA is implementing the strategy it has adopted for the development of football step by step, and that Azerbaijan will be represented by 4 FIFA referees in the international arena from next year," he said in a statement to sport24.az.
Y.Seyidov also spoke about his expectations for 2026:
"I want our national and youth teams, and our clubs that will play in European Cups, to qualify for the groups. I want the teams competing in the Premier League to invite more qualified legionnaires, new football academies to be opened, infrastructure to be renewed, training camps and stadiums to be built, and young talents to grow who can play in Europe. I believe that the coming year will be more successful for Azerbaijani football."
He also said that he believes in the AFFA leadership:
"I believe that the AFFA leadership, together with the football community, will achieve the goals set for 2026."
