Polish goalkeeper Wojciech Szczęsny of "Barcelona" has made sincere confessions about his career, personal life, and jokes he made in the teams he played for.
Idman.Biz reports that the interview with the 35-year-old goalkeeper was taken by "GQ Poland" publication.
"I played for free in my first season at Barcelona"
Wojciech Szczęsny admits that he played practically without pay in his first season at the Catalan club:
"The amount I was paid was exactly equal to the money I paid Juventus for the early termination of the contract. So I was basically playing for free."
He also said that he had a conversation with Robert Lewandowski just a few days before he was preparing to say goodbye to football temporarily:
"I told him that I don't want to play for any club anymore, but if it's "Barcelona", it's possible, no other club."

Wojciech Szczęsny also revealed a funny detail about his teammate Jules Koundé:
"I like to look good too, but Koundé is on another level. He thinks of a separate image for each training session. Even if he comes in everyday clothes, you can see that he has matched his socks to his clothes, and his shoes are specially selected. He matches everything perfectly."
The goalkeeper himself said with a laugh, "I just like hats."
Childhood trauma: "My father deliberately embarrassed me in front of others"
The most sincere part of the Polish football player is his childhood memories:
"As a child, I was always afraid of my father. Not physically... He could deliberately embarrass me when there were other people around. There were moments when I asked myself: "Dad, why are you doing this to me?"

The experienced goalkeeper also spoke about his attitude to food:
"I love food. My weight is normal, but I broke the fat record in "Barcelona". I have never trained more than others, but I have managed to maintain a high level for 18 years."
He also remembers the famous joke in the Polish national team:
"Once Lewandowski said: "How did you manage such a career with this body?" Coach Michniewicz replied: "The goalkeeper is a chess player: the hands play, but the brain makes the decision." From that day on, every time someone asks me to train in the gym, I say: "It's chess."
