The Azerbaijani national team will play its first match in Group D today as part of the WC-2026 qualifying round. Sport24.az reports that the team, coached by Fernando Santos, will face Iceland away.
The match, which will be held at the "Laugardalsvöllur" stadium in Reykjavik, will start at 22:45 Baku time. The match will be managed by a refereeing team from the Netherlands.
It should be noted that the Azerbaijani national team will host Ukraine in the 2nd round.
