After defeating the Congo DR team (2-1) in the 1/16 finals of the DÇ-2026, the England national team refused to travel to Mexico. Daily Mail reports that the team will prepare for the 1/8 finals in the USA instead.
According to sources, Thomas Tuchel's team has returned to their base in Kansas City and will conduct the main part of their training for the match against Mexico there. One of the reasons is the concern that their opponents may try to observe England's tactical plans in Mexico City.
Tuchel has requested that the training sessions be held at the Swope Soccer Village closed base. The fields are checked, security is monitored by local police, and anti-drone measures are taken.
Note that the Mexico - England match will take place on July 6 at 03:00 Baku time in Mexico City.
