Spain goalkeeper Unai Simon has spoken about Portugal striker Cristiano Ronaldo ahead of their teams' meeting in the round of 16 at the 2026 World Cup.
Sport.Biz reports that the match will take place on July 6.
"Cristiano is not the same player he was 6-7 years ago at Real Madrid, but we need to keep him as far away from our penalty area as possible. In the final of the Nations League, he scored a goal after a returned ball from the penalty area. He wants to score the same goal that we all want to see in our team. We need to control the ball and not let him get close to our penalty area", - Simon said.
The 2026 World Cup will be held in the USA, Canada, and Mexico from June 11 to July 19. The current champion of the tournament is Argentina.
