France coach Didier Deschamps has named the Spanish national team as the main favorite for the 2026 World Cup.
Sport.News reports that the Spanish national team will compete in group H of the tournament. Their rivals are Cape Verde, Saudi Arabia and Uruguay.
"If there is a real favorite, it is Spain. France has a high level of potential, but they have a long way to go. We have rejuvenated and added high-level players, but for some, this will be their first World Cup. I won't put France above the others, but Spain is the main favorite, I have no doubt about it", - L'Equipe quotes Deschamps as saying.
The Spanish national team drew 0-0 with Cape Verde in their first match of the championship.
