The head of state has demanded a thorough investigation from the Ministry of Sports regarding the team's results at the World Cup, errors made in management, and the appointment process of head coach Xon Men Bo. In his opinion, the team's failure was largely due to selection and organizational problems.
The South Korean national team lost to Mexico and South Africa in Group A, but defeated the Czech Republic. Although the team finished third with three points, they failed to make it to the top three and did not advance to the round of 16.
After the unsuccessful result, Xon Men Bo announced his resignation. The expert took responsibility for the result and apologized to the fans.
