Portugal player Fransisco Consegueau shared his thoughts on Cristiano Ronaldo ahead of the match against Uzbekistan in the group stage of the 2026 World Cup.
Sport.Biz reports that the 23-year-old right-winger disagrees with the idea that Portugal should always pass the ball to Ronaldo in every attack.
"The media creates the impression that we must pass the ball to Ronaldo every time. This is not the case. We are not forced to pass the ball to Ronaldo. In every episode, we try to find the player in the best position," Consegueau said.
Portugal will face Uzbekistan in the second round of Group K. The match will start at 21:00 Baku time on June 23.
Note that Portugal drew 1-1 with the Democratic Republic of Congo in the first round. After this result, Roberto Martinez's team will face Uzbekistan under more serious pressure.
