The former head coach of the national team shared his thoughts on the qualifying match of the 2026 World Cup against Iceland today: "We will play against a team with high athletic and functional preparation. After this game, we will see what form our players are in after the limit is lifted. Many of them lack game practice, which is clear. Game practice is very important for a high level of functional preparation. The fact that some players have little of it worries us. I wish the national team success. I think they will put up a good fight. The opponent is a fast team that makes better use of standard situations. They have tall players and will try to keep our defenders under constant pressure. They will try to score an early goal and keep the game on a calm course. The opponent's strength is known, many Icelandic players play in good teams abroad. We are waiting for a match with a high-level team ahead."
