Russian footballer Denis Makarov has unilaterally terminated his contract with Turkish club Kayserispor.
Idman.Biz reports that this was announced by his lawyer, Anton Smirnov.
According to the source, the club has not paid the player's salary for three months, which gave the Russian a valid reason to terminate the contract.
"A complaint against the club will be sent to the FIFA Football Tribunal Dispute Resolution Chamber. This complaint demands not only the payment of debts to the player, but also sports sanctions against the club in the form of a fine and a ban on registering new players for the next two transfer periods", Smirnov wrote on his Telegram channel.
Makarov had previously applied to the club with a complaint and given them a 15-day period to pay off their debts. According to the lawyer, Kayserispor ignored the complaint and did not fulfill their financial obligations.
