The first official talks between London's Chelsea and Xabi Alonso took place this week.
Idman.Biz reports that journalist Nicolo Schira announced this on social media.
The meeting was very positive. The Spanish manager confirmed his readiness to sign a contract, lead the team, and remain committed to a long-term project. Despite the promising start to the negotiations, Chelsea management continues to consider other candidates for the vacant position. Internal discussions are ongoing at the club, and a final decision regarding the new head coach has not yet been made.
Xabi Alonso left Real Madrid earlier this year and has been without a club since then.
