The friendly match planned between the Russian national team and the Azerbaijani national team will not take place. Sport24.az reports that the Russian publication "Sovetski Sport" has published information about this.
The report states that although an agreement was reached between the two federations on this issue at the end of last year, the match will not take place:
"Within the framework of the UEFA event, an agreement was reached between officials of the two countries' top football bodies to hold a friendly match in the first half of 2025. However, due to the events of recent days (referring to the shooting down of the AZAL plane over Grozny - R), the match will not take place."
It should be noted that the national team will face Belarus on March 25th.
