Morocco national team head coach Muhammad Waibi commented on the 3:0 victory over Canada in the 1/8 finals of the 2026 World Cup.
According to Idman.Biz, the match was held at the NRG Stadium in Houston, USA.
Speaking to the official website of FIFA, the expert highly appreciated the game of his team in the second half:
"We are very happy. This is a World Cup game — such matches are always difficult, teams are fighting for their fate. In the second half, we reacted well to the struggle for the ball and played confidently in the duels. I must admit that the Canadian national team also played a great game. It was not a surprise for us, but in the second half we were able to take advantage of the gaps left by the opponent — this was the key to success", — Waibi said.
Note that the Moroccan national team has advanced to the quarterfinals of the World Cup with this victory and will face the winner of the Paraguay — France pair.
The 2026 World Cup will be held from June 11 to July 19 in the USA, Canada, and Mexico. The current world champion is the Argentine national team.
