İdman.Biz reports that after the final whistle of the match, Paraguay's goalkeeper Orlando Hil approached the French player to congratulate him. However, the captain of the French national team did not shake hands with his rival.
"After the match, I approached Mbappe to congratulate him. But he didn't shake my hand. I just wanted to greet him," Hil said in a statement to L'Equipe.
After this episode, the Paraguayan goalkeeper could not control his emotions. Hil kicked the ball at Mbappe's back as he walked away towards his teammates. The incident caused tension, but it did not escalate after the intervention of the players and team representatives.
