Manchester United has announced on its social media page that it has acquired land for the construction of a new stadium with a capacity of 100,000 spectators.
Sport.Biz reports that the Manchester club has acquired the majority of the land needed to build the new stadium, which will be the largest sports arena in the UK.
The area covers 25 acres (101,000 square meters) and is located approximately 350 meters northwest of the current "Old Trafford" stadium, and was purchased from "Indurent".
Manchester United's current stadium, "Old Trafford", was built in 1910 and has been renovated several times. The arena has a capacity of 74,000 people.
