Manchester City have strengthened their squad with a new goalkeeper. According to Sport24.az, the Premier League club have announced the signing of Sheffield Wednesday goalkeeper Piers Charlez.
The club's press service has released a statement about the transfer.
The transfer fee, including bonuses, is £3 million. A 5-year contract has been signed with the 20-year-old Northern Ireland goalkeeper until the summer of 2031.
Note that Piers Charlez previously played for the Manchester City academy. The young goalkeeper will spend the 2026/27 season on loan at Championship club QPR (Queens Park Rangers).
