Former Real Madrid midfielder Claude Makelele has reacted to rumors about the club wanting to extend the contract of midfielder Aurelien Tchouameni.
Sport.Biz reports that Makelele has revealed how the team's squad should be strengthened.
"Tchouameni was the only consistent player for the team all season. Mourinho is not a foolish man; he is a skilled coach, one of the best. He understands that to win La Liga, he needs a strong team. Real Madrid lacks a midfielder who can carry the ball and break through the defense. They need a player who can make quick passes to attackers like Vinicius and also be able to move forward on his own", Makelele said.
Last season, the 25-year-old midfielder played 49 games in all competitions, scoring two goals and making two assists. Transfermarkt values him at 70 million euros.
