Uruguayan striker Luis Suarez, who plays for the US club Inter Miami, spoke about the events that shaped his career and where his character came from.
Idman.Biz reports that Suarez admitted in an interview that he has constantly faced criticism and struggle throughout his career.
"At Ajax, I was criticized for being too fat. At Liverpool, I was attacked for my bad behavior. And at Barcelona, I was criticized for periods of low form. I have had to fight at every stage of my career," the striker emphasized.
The Uruguayan footballer says that his life has been built on struggle since childhood:
"I have been fighting since I was a child. I was looking for food on the street so that my family would have food. Always, as long as I can remember, my life has been a struggle."
Suarez also admits that he sometimes cannot control himself:
"I realize that I cannot be a good example at some moments. Even my wife and children don't believe it when they hear me shouting. But that rebellious character inside me, that fighting spirit, is what shaped me."
He said that although he has been trying to change this trait for years, that character still prevails when he steps onto the football field.
