Manchester United and Argentina defender Lisandro Martines has admitted that he thought about leaving football.
İdman.Biz reports that the Argentine player said this in an interview with insider Fabritsio Romano.
„After I tore my cruciate ligaments last year, I thought about quitting football. I didn't want to suffer anymore. I was in a hopeless situation. But then my daughter was born and everything changed. I saw what my wife was going through during childbirth, and how much she suffered. And then I thought to myself: „How can I give up now?“ - Martines said.

According to reports, the Argentina national team won 3-2 against Cape Verde in the 1/16 finals of the World Cup and advanced to the 1/8 finals. Martines played 120 minutes in that match, scored a goal and made an assist for Lionel Messi's goal.
