Journalist Florencia Penya has apologised to Lionel Messi for reporting on the death of his father.
Sport.Biz reports that Messi's family had previously denied rumors about Jorge Messi's health, admitting that he was indeed experiencing health issues.
"I apologize to the Messi family in these terrible moments. I am deeply ashamed of causing them pain.
I must clarify that this false information, allegedly confirmed by the show's staff, was conveyed to me live and I believed it. Nevertheless, I take responsibility for my role in this mistake. I apologize once again, sincerely from the heart; I was wrong", - Penya wrote on social media.
