Barcelona president Joan Laporta has responded to Real Madrid president Florentino Perez's criticism of the 'blaugrana' regarding the 'Negreira case'.
İdman.Biz reports that in 2023, the 'blaugrana' were accused of corruption related to payments to Jose Maria Negreira, the former vice-president of the Technical Committee of Referees (CTA), who worked at the Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF). Barcelona was accused of making these payments between 2001 and 2018.
"I think these statements show that Real Madrid suffers from an obsession with Barcelona. It seems they need to talk about Barcelona to justify something. They interfere in every aspect of the Negreira trial and drag it out like chewing gum because they know there's nothing there, but it's a way to justify something that isn't true.
Barcelona has never bribed referees. Referees generally don't favor Barcelona; on the contrary, they have favored Madrid all their lives. Let's not go too far, Madrid scored two goals on the last matchday that, in my opinion, were invalid. In one case, Bellingham touched the ball with his hand, and in the other, Vinicius broke Inaki Peña's nose. Those two goals shouldn't have counted, and Barcelona should be at the top of La Liga right now," The Touchline quotes Laporta.
