Barcelona president Joan Laporta has criticized the Real Madrid management after the club sent a letter to UEFA regarding the Negreira case.
Sport.Biz reports that Joan Laporta was re-elected as Barcelona's president in March 2026.
"They will answer for this. We know UEFA's position on this matter. This is just another hysterical outburst from them, an attempt to justify their illogical and inconsequential actions and to prolong this story as long as possible. It was in their interest to create all this noise to distract from other issues - their desire to turn the club into a joint-stock company and the things that are not going well for them," - "Mundo Deportivo" quotes Laporta.
Barcelona was accused of bribery in 2023. According to media reports, during 2001-2018, Barcelona allegedly transferred money to Negreira.
