German national team coach Julian Nagelsmann commented on the 7:1 victory over Curaçao in the first round of Group E of the 2026 World Cup.
Sport.Business reports that the German expert noted that his team needed a few minutes to return to the game after the opponent equalized the score.
"After Curaçao equalized, it took us a few minutes to get back into the game. As we saw, the Curaçao national team can also play football. I'm interested in seeing how this team will perform in the next matches of the group", Nagelsmann said in a statement on the official FIFA website.
The head coach emphasized that he was satisfied with Germany's performance:
"I'm very happy that we scored seven goals. I also really liked our team's game. It's always important to start a tournament with a win. We're very happy that we were able to do that".
