Japan's national team has extended its successful streak against European teams in the 2026 World Cup.
Sport.Biz reports that the Asian representative drew 2-2 with the Netherlands in the first round of Group F.
Japan has not lost to European teams in 90 minutes since 2019, beating Germany twice (2-1 and 4-1), Spain 2-1, and Scotland, England, and Iceland 1-0.
Japan drew 1-1 with Croatia and 2-2 with the Netherlands. Although the match against Croatia in the 1/8 finals of the 2022 World Cup ended in a draw after regular and extra time, Japan stopped competing in the penalty shootout.
