The South African Football Association (SAFA) has announced that 74-year-old Belgian coach Hugo Broos will continue to manage the national team.
Sport.Biz reports that the 74-year-old Broos has been the coach of South Africa since 2021. During this period, he led the national team to a bronze medal at the 2023 African Nations Cup.
"The South African Football Association denies reports that coach Hugo Broos has resigned as head coach of the South African men's national football team," SAFA said in a statement.
In the group stage of the 2026 World Cup, "Bafana Bafana" lost to Mexico (0:2), drew with the Czech Republic (1:1), and defeated South Korea (1:0). In the 1/16 finals, the team lost to Canada (0:1).
