Head coach of the Azerbaijani national minifootball team: “We want to hold a tournament with the participation of foreign teams in Baku”

We are planning to organize a minifootball tournament with the participation of foreign teams in Baku in early May.

Elshad Guliyev, the head coach of the Azerbaijani national minifootball team, said this in his statement to "Report".

The expert announced the upcoming plans for the national team:

"The selection process is still ongoing. The Azerbaijani championship will end on March 5. We plan to start the first training camp of the year on March 10. Then a program will be developed for preparation for the World Championship. We are planning to participate in two tournaments. One of them should be in Montenegro in April. We are also planning to organize a tournament with the participation of foreign teams in Baku in early May."

E.Guliyev said that there will be changes in the composition of the national team:

"It is certain that there will be changes in the squad. There are those who have finished their careers, and there are new players. We have several players in mind. The main thing is that, regardless of which country he plays in, he is an Azerbaijani citizen and a good player. One of the players we are following is Ramiz Chovdarov. He is currently in Germany. There are also some players whose names I do not want to mention, and we are trying to determine whether they are suitable for the team. You will see at least 4-5 new players in the national team."

It should be noted that the Azerbaijani national team last competed in the European Championship held in Sarajevo, the capital of Bosnia and Herzegovina. The team stopped the fight in the 1/4 finals, losing to Kazakhstan in the penalty shootout of the match that ended goalless.
