Graham Potter, the head coach of the Swedish national football team, has extended his contract with the team after only two games.
Idman.Biz reports that, according to the press service of the local football association, the parties have signed a new agreement until 2030.
Potter, the former head coach of Chelsea and West Ham, took over the Swedish national team in October. Under his leadership, the team was defeated by Switzerland in the World Cup qualifying stage (1:4) and drew with Slovenia (1:1), but the federation did not lose faith in him.
Although the Swedish national team finished fourth in Group B of the qualifying stage, they qualified for the play-off stage thanks to their ranking in the Nations League. The northern representative will face Ukraine on March 26. If they win, they will face the winner of the Poland-Albania pair for a place in the 2026 World Cup.
It should be noted that Potter is no stranger to Swedish football. From 2011 to 2018, he raised the "Estersund" club from the fourth division to the top league and won the national cup in 2017.
