Bordeaux have been banned from competing in all French leagues. According to Sport24.az, "Get Football News Franse" reported on this.
The decision was made by the National Management Control Directorate (DNCG). It was expected that Bordeaux would receive 9 million euros in cash to balance their budget and finance the upcoming 2026/27 season. However, the necessary funds did not arrive at the club.
Bordeaux is currently under the control of the British investment fund "Sparta Capital". The club intends to appeal the DNCG's decision. If successful, at best, Bordeaux will be allowed to play in France's sixth division, Regional 1.
Note that Bordeaux is a six-time French champion. In August 2024, the "Girondins" were relegated to the fourth division due to debt.
