Nice head coach Frank Haise has stated that he intends to stay at the club despite the incident in which fans beat the players.
Idman.Biz reports that the incident took place after Nice's 3:1 defeat to Lorient.
Approximately 400 fans arrived at the club's training base. The group initially demanded the resignation of head coach Frank Haise. The situation later escalated and the aggression was directed at the players.
"I actually thought about leaving the club, even more than that. But I'm staying for the sake of humanity. I didn't sleep that night and I said to myself that I just can't get up and leave. I was ready to leave the team and the management knew that. What happened on Sunday was the last straw," L'Équipe quoted Ez as saying.
Nice is currently 10th in the French Ligue 1 table with 17 points.
It should be noted that during the incident, dozens of fans physically and verbally attacked the club's black players, Jeremi Boga and Teremas Moffi. The players were kicked, slapped and spat on. The Ivorian and Nigerian forwards were also subjected to racist insults by the attacking fans.
After the incident, Jeremi Boga and Teremas Moffi declared that they no longer wanted to play for Nice.
