Tamworth player Chris Wreh was subjected to racist abuse after his team's defeat to Tottenham in the FA Cup 1/32 finals.
"Report" reports with reference to "SkySports" that the 28-year-old footballer reported this on social media after the game.
The footballer, who shared a screenshot of the abusive message he received, said he had already contacted the police. Police said in a statement that they were aware of the abusive message and had contacted the club.
It should be noted that the match ended with a 3:0 victory for Tottenham.
