In Pavia, Italy, 25-year-old footballer Gabriele Vaccaro was attacked by teenagers over a dispute over pizza boxes.
Lent.az reports, citing foreign media, that the incident occurred on April 19, and despite the efforts of doctors, the athlete died in the hospital.
The murder took place at night when Vaccaro was walking to his car with two friends. Five teenagers attacked them. A 17-year-old attacker stabbed Vaccaro in the neck and abdomen with a corkscrew. The victim's friends initially did not understand the severity of the injuries and took him home, but later called an ambulance.
The footballer was taken to the hospital, but died as a result of his severe injuries. One of his friends was also injured in the abdomen and is reported to be in stable condition.
According to the investigation, the conflict began when the teenagers demanded that Vaccaro hand over the pizza boxes he was carrying. The footballer's refusal led to aggressive behavior from the teenagers.
