Brazilian club "Fluminense" defeated Saudi Arabia's "Al-Hilal" 2:1 in the 1/4 finals of the Club World Cup.
"Report" reports that the match took place in Orlando (Florida, USA).
Mateus Martinelli (40th minute) and Erkules (70) scored the winners' goals. "Al-Hilal" player Marcos Leonardo (51) scored.
"Fluminense" became the first team to reach the semifinals of the tournament. "Fluminense"'s opponent in the semi-finals will be the winner of the "Palmeiras" (Brazil) - "Chelsea" (England) match.
In the 1/8 finals, "Fluminense" defeated Italian "Inter", the finalist of the 2024/25 Champions League season, with a score of 2:0. "Al-Hilal" was stronger than England's "Manchester City" at this stage.
The Club World Cup is being held for the first time in a new format. 32 teams are competing in the tournament. The final will take place on July 13.
