Farhad Veliyev is against the abolition of the legionnaire limit
"Experts, the football community should seriously discuss this issue." These words were stated by Farhad Veliyev in his statement to the Sport24.az website.
The veteran footballer, who once defended the honor of the national team, emphasized the necessity of having a limit for the development of local players: "I think it is better if there is a limit for the development of our football. If the rule is changed, it will be difficult for local footballers. When there is a limit, teams try to invite stronger legionnaires. If this is removed, the level will drop. In my opinion, the limit should remain in terms of the development of local players." It should be noted that in recent days there have been rumors among the football community about the abolition of the legionnaire limit from the new season.
