The European Parliament is set to hold a hearing on FIFA President Gianni Infantino's plan to sell some tournament rights to private investors.

According to the source, in a letter circulated among the members of the European Parliament, Infantino is required to answer questions from officials directly, in the spirit of the "transparency and democratic accountability that FIFA itself openly advocates".
In the letter, circulated by Polish member of the European Parliament, Bogdan Zdrojewski, Infantino's actions as FIFA president are directly criticized and he is required to come to the European Parliament to provide explanations.
On July 30, UEFA announced that it would be ready to boycott FIFA-funded tournaments if rights were sold to private investors. On the same day, CONCACAF rejected the idea proposed by FIFA. On July 31, the AFC supported UEFA and CONCACAF.
